Hey people i have done a search on the turbo overview and trouble shooting, and was hoping that you would be able to help me to find a place to start looking..

The symptoms are the primary will work fine sometimes i have to gas off and then gas on to get it to work, then the primary will come on at 4500 and work fine to red line, but when i gas off and try to boost again with out the turbos changing back to primary mode i get nothing, if i let the rpm drop down below approx 2800 the primary will kick back in and then the secondary will work fine again.. hope thats not confusing,

My though is that the waste gate is not shutting after the transition as i gas off,

could be wastegate or solenoids in the ratsnest possably.

 

Sounds like you need to change your check valves, or replace the turbo control solenoids.

I really really doubt it's your wastegate.

 

hey guys, I just replaced 2 solenoids, cos the primary turbo wasnt working, and tested all the others while we had it out, although one could have gone bad since we tested, it is the 99 so no rats nest, just the plastic box with the solenoids in it, it could be a check valve, will have to check those, we did test the check vaves while we had it apart aswell but will check again , thank you
