borla xr-1... big plus
Today I welded in a borla xr-1 into my midpipe and I love it....it sat in my garage for a few months and finally got around to welding it on today... borla gets the big from me... the tone of my exhaust is now deeper and less obnoxious.... still have not taken it out on the the freeway yet for a good run, but I am not expecting anything less then a sweet sound...the xr-1 definitely was a big plus in my opinion, and I would recommend it...

Ive been thinking about doing this also. The reason I want to do it is to reduce cabin noise. Would be nice if someone would take some before and after sound clips.
Also anyone use a magnaflow instead of the borla? Both are straight thru designs, just wondering if they both sound similar as the magnaflow is cheaper.

I did this "mod" years ago. One of the best things I did.
Running a non-resonated mid-pipe would set off all the alarms as I drove down the backlane, and would seriously **** of the neighbors.
As well the car sounded definitely like an outboard on steriods.
The Borla XR-1 ==>
Got rid of the brutal droning on the highway.
Quieted the cabin noise significantly.
The car is still VERY loud at WOT, but much less than before.
No noticeable difference in power.
