I have seen this problem, but it is only from cold to warm .....once the car warms up it will hit normal boost

It's been a whole day and no takers on this one? I'll step out on a limb,

My only guess is that with a stock precat and stock IC, on hot days your car just won't make any more boost than 8 psi.

I assume you mean the 11psi spike is at transition. If not there when does it happen? All in all pretty normal for a sequential car when it gets colder.

Sacramento has pretty crisp evenings this time of year does it not?

That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I've heard of the turbo control solenoid malfunctioning when hot. It's the one that controls vacuum, attached to the ACV. Being right there between UIM and LIM it gets hot and decrapitates. I can't remember what boost pattern it gives, though. When you say 8psi, is it 8-8-8 or is it only 8 on the secondary, or what?

I know that my car on at night makes less boost (psi) but more power because cold air is more dense. If your stock ic is heat soaked, you can have higher psi than normal due to hotter air (expansion).

I think the Turbo Control solenoid is the one that tends to fail the most since it cycles on/off a lot more than the other ones. Pull that **** out and do the electrical load test (hot and cold)

Mine doesnt work properly when the car is hot, resulting in a weak 8-5-8 boost pattern.

blackR1......

so did it fix ur problem???

twisted...yes the 11 spike is at transition only....

so all in all, it COULD be NORMAL??? i need to take a look at my Turbo Control Solenoid then.

p'cola, it gets to 8 then goes down and then stays at 8 through 7.5 rpm.

i still beat that cylinder/head COBRA though.

It's worth a look for your TC solenoid. You have to remove the UIM, but that's not a big deal, if you've done it before. I see you have an aftermarket BOV. Is there any chance that it could be the culprit?

yeah..the FIRST time i found out i had a boost leak, it WAS the gasket on my blitz bov. but i replaced the gasket and it was running fine. had 3 kills with it already.
but then the other day when i ran that cobra(100 degrees outside) it just wasnt boostin the whole 10-8-10....last night when i was goin home(10 pm) it was FINE again.
