Every car is different, go get a cheap boost gauge from autozone. Playing around with a boost controller and not boost gauge is just asking for trouble.

well i guess its a good thing im waiting on gaskets to finish my LIM gasket job then. ill head up to a parts store and see about grabbin one. any ideas where i should start? all the way negative doesnt let any air to the wastegtes. i thought that would be a bad thing since the wastegates wouldnt open and you would be getting all the boost to your engine. am i missing something with the boost controller? isnt it suppose to let less air pass for more boost, not less?

You want it all the way open. If you start all the way closed you will boost 'till it pops.
