Question Boost Control On Stock Twin Turbos?

Hey guys,

i have had a search but can't find what i am looking for so here goes

On the FD stock twins, i noticed that only 1 of the turbos has a wastegate built into it. How is the boost on the turbo without the wastegate controlled? Is it done through the manifold?

cheers

Lance

The wastegate can vent exhaust gases, regardless of whether the primary is operating alone or both turbos are in operation.

Thanks for the replies

Though what about in a non seqential setup. I beleive the flap in the manifold is wired open, therefore the gases are going to be directed through the sec turbo with no wastegate, so how is it going to control boost? Or is the wastegate control on the pri turbo enough to maintain the set boost pressure?

cheers

The PRE-CONTROL door is welded open, not the wastegate. The wastegate functions normally. I think you need to take another look at how the turbos operate, they can be confusing....
