Really depends on what you're comfortable with. There are 3 grades of boost controllers -
1. Manual. These are the bleeder valve type setups, like the Hallman. Many of them work quite well, but they're a pain in the butt to tune, and you typically can't turn them off. But they're cheap.
2. Basic electronic boost controllers. This is the Profec B, HKS EVC EZ, etc. Few buttons and lights, easy to set up and use. Pretty much all of them work very well - they're easy to use and setup, you can have a low and high boost mode, as well as turning the unit off for VERY low boost.
3. Advanced electronic boost controllers. This is the Apexi AVC-R, Greddy E-01, Blitz SBC-ID, etc. They typically have screens and lots of menus. These add LOTS more options to what you can do - control boost by gear, by RPM, datalog runs, see peak values, etc. These are great for more advanced guys, or people that like messing with gadgets .
The only "bad" boost controller is the Greddy Profec A, which isn't made any more. It requires PERFECT control of boost to work properly, which pretty much any car with an internal wastegate doesn't have.
Anyhow, you'll be in good hands with the Profec B. Can't go wrong with it. Do a search - it's been written up before, actually pretty recently.
