Body Electrical Troubleshooting Manual - solution to a lot of electrical issues
Hey guys -
I've noticed a trend with more posts and questions regarding various electrical gremlins in the car. Then I noticed that there isn't an obvious link to the BEM and many may not know about it.
So, the FD has a few service manuals. There's the main service manual that covers engine, brakes, transmission, etc. Then there's the wiring diagram with all the diagrams of the systems.
The BEM is the 3rd in the bunch. It goes through the electrical systems in the car in depth with troubleshooting steps and things to check. This is invaluable for nailing down electrical problems.
Here's a link to the 94 version of the BEM -

This also talks about the AC and heating system as well.
I'm used to having access to it as I have an original Mazda paper shop manual in my garage which has all 3 of the primary manuals.

This manual is among the best of its kind. It has step-by-step diagnostic procedures with very clear diagrams for almost every conceivable electrical (and AC) problem.
The only negative thing I can say about it is that it (inexplicably - unless I am missing something) does not have a procedure to diagnose the common click-click-start problem. I had to wing that one.
It works really well in combination with the Wiring Diagram book (which has pull-out diagrams of all major electrical circuits).

Yep, I've seen that, the corrections are relatively minor all things considered.
