blue smoke on warmup? (semi searched)
Hey got a issue here. i read on the newb section that slight smoke when you turn on the car is ok... as along as it goes away. i fully understand that. weird thing is i've never had it before. other day i turned it on and it started puffing blue smoke.
BUT it'll only do it for about a min.as soon as my coolant needle get right at the C. it's gone. (i use quick start yea yea i know) then i'll never see it again, UNLESS i let it cool over night again. i'll see it again. i know it's oil, it's blue. no where near white. i'm just wondering if i shoudl check something. and what ya'll could reccomend thanks guys.

I had the same thing when my turbo seals were *^%$ed...
Lots of blue smoke when:
Startup after the car had been sitting for over 6 hours
Engine braking from high rpm - dyno runs, changing down on the motorway etc
Faint blue smoke when:
Idling for long periods - sitting in traffic or at traffic lights
Swapped out the turbos and all traces of the smoke is now gone.
Interestingly, the actuator on the primary turbo was FULL of oil

As long as your coolant levels are staying in the green, you are shittin in tall cotton. The way these things are controlled on stock set-up, you cou'ld almost consider them as 2 strokes. Oil smoke (blue)goood. White smoke bad, very bad. Been there, done that.

Sounds like turbos are starting to get worn,my low mi fd never smokes at all,hot or cold.I woundnt worry too much,my last fd started to do that at 50,000 miles and it still boosted fine.I would switch to mobil 1 if i was you.It might help your turbos last a little longer.
