How true is this and, what is the logic behind this?

If the motor throws an apex seal out of the exhaust port it can mess up the turbines.

Thanks. I have a high milage motor which I don't want to open until it breaks. I however want to up my turbos without wasting my $$.

i was just going to say it depends on how you motor blows, its true for piston engines too, sometimes..

I dissolved a piston and it threw chunks of metal threw the turbine and fubared it. Usually piston engines seaze (or however you spell it) but the rotor usually keeps working, so there is a good chance it will throw ***** out the exhaust, again it depends on how your motor finishes....
