Question Block off plates for Air Pump removal

I'm thinking of purchasing block off plates for my 93 touring. I live in MN (car came from Cali) so emission testing is a nada, never will happen....better not. Is it safe to remove all the items (ACV, Split Air, AWS Pipe, AWS Solenoid, ACV Pipe, EGR Valve, ISC/BAC Solenoid, Double Throttle), when the only mod on my car is a downpipe?? Please help, Motor is out now, so best time as any to do all this crap.

Please HELP

you probably want a midpipe so that the lack of the air pump's fresh air to the catalyst doesnt clog up your catalytic converter. and if you get a mp, make sure you get an ecu upgrade and a boost controller or ported wastegate, or both. might as well get upgraded injectors while youre at it.

besides that, everything should be all gravy.

i think most people usually dont remove the emissions equipment until after they have all the bolt ons already and want to clear up some room for a single turbo or non-seq setup at least, so they can clean up the solenoid rack some. i dont see the benefit of pulling it all out for no reason. plus, you will be hurting our o-zone layer! haha.

Yes it is safe. I just asked the same question about the air pump removal block off plates. Someone said the rx7 store has them but I'am not sure if they have the air pump block off plates.

Darn it.....One or 2 upgrades I want to do always leads to me forking out 1500 for a damn ecu........can anyone say not rich?? Its always downpipe+exhaust+intake=ECU (and maybe go to NON-SEQ), Straight through Downpipe+midpipe+exhaust=ECU.........I need to sell my other car and motorcycle the way it looks.

I'll probably have to stick to Downpipe till my lottery ticket pulls through :P

anymore input would be great...thanks

I run a SS DP, gutted main cat, and a greddy cat back. It does NOT creep or spike above 11 psi on the transition from primary to secondary. i do have a profec B so i could at least have some control over the spiking and hope to hold down the boost which it seems to be doing. I DO NOT have an intake as of yet and the reason is because this is the last bolt on to make it breathe better and I'am afriad this mod will make it spike and creep. So I just have a normal K&N stock air filter element and it seems to be working good. My car is a rock steady 10 psi.
