What intake do you think would be the best? The Blitz SUS or Apexi?

 

You'll get the same performance from either of them. However, IMO, the Blitz "looks" the best if that makes a difference to you.

 

I prefer the look of the blitz also. But the apexi is cheaper....

 

BLITZ!

 

I just installed the blitz. Construction is first rate, but I have some minor fitment issues with the intake for the primary turbo. Hopefully, I will get it fixed shortly.

 

I've got the apexi intake myself and performance is nice, install was easy enough. I think it looks pretty good too, especially if you have polished pipes and if you polish the metal on the intakes. Only thing I don't like is the fitment issues they have with aftermarket intercoolers.

 

does anyone know where the Blitz is in stock at? cause i have been looking for a couple of months now and no one has it in stock! they all say that they are comming at the end of the month, but then another month goes by!

 

Call the Jason at the RX7Store. I had to wait a about 4 weeks but I got it last Fri. He said they had two coming in and one was mine maybe he still has another in stock.

 

The blitz is much more expensive, but it includes a heat shield to block the hot radiator air from going into the intakes. Also, I'm not sure, but does the apexi intake have the anti-moo tablets like the blitz?

Actually Blitz intake's material cannot filter the air good even it looks nice. Some ppl complain some sand still go though the intake

I have the Apex'I and think it looks great.

 

I have the Blitz and don't worry about the filtering. It's a fine metal mesh filter and I don't beleive it's a drastic difference then the paper Apexi's. There is also a new big single cone Blitz but you loose the heat shield.

 

It's obvious by looking at my avatar that I favor the Blitz SUS System. The stainless mesh filters never have to be replaced. Just wash/clean every 3-4K miles, or when needed. And they look awesome. Fitment is perfect.

 

How do you clean the Blitz filters?

 

i think the apexi is just about dumb

doesn't fit that well and gets tons of hot air and the filters look dumb and cheap as ****

if you want a real thought out and effective intake follow damians thread if you want the apexi go buy 2 k&n filters and about 6" of pipe and make it in 3 minutes

too bad ntech doesn't make theirs anymore for the fd

 

I call dibs on the blitz intake.

 

My method is to let them soak for about an hour in warm water with dish wash lotion. Then blow them out with air nozzle, let them dry and finally... shine/polish with spray-on/wipe off SS cleaner. Good as new (forever!!).

 

do you think you could use the K&N filter washing kit, or is it a different material that might not react very well...

 

Thats a bit harsh. It fits fine, except with some IC's. Any intake without a shield is gonna pull in the same amount of hot air, unless you move it or tunnel in fresh air. The filters look just like K&N's, which are not cheap at all. So there.

 

Well, I chose the Apexi because of the Test Results . According to the test, it produced the most HP and allowed the least amount of particles. I would still have it in my car but it wouldn't work with my M2 intercooler without work so I just bought the M2 carbon fiber intake. I still have the Apexi, and it's only 3 weeks old if anyone's interested. I still have the box and everything. And yes, it comes with the anti-moo pill.

 

I like the look of the Blitz better, but I am more impressed with Apexi's stuff.

 

Did you read the "Conclusion" section of that article?

"It is questionable how accurate the original source of data is, as HKS are proven to sell more induction kits than any one of the others featured in the test, and yet there induction kit rates as the worst kit in the test. This suggests that either HKS rely upon their brand name to sell their 'poorly' manufactured air filters, or that the original Japanese test was nothing more than a PR stunt to promote the lesser known equipment. HKS and Blitz continue to be the best selling induction kits in the UK, and are used by Middlehursts, Hiteq and Abbey Motorsport as their first choice when the induction kit modification is carried out."

They didn't do their own test as you see, they got the data from somewhere else. That article is really not reputable. The problem is, there is no other test to compare with so I would say don't really on that information soley as your decision process.
