I'm sure it's for added air for the IC.. it's just a nice added feature..
hmm.. you can actually hide the license plate in there, then hit a button and it comes out!! hmmm??

Thanks guys...
Alex, its a direct bolt on, since it was from Mazdaspeed. I had it painted, then installed it myself. Took a whole 15minutes!
And the slit is for "ram air effect" or it can be used as the lisence plate bracket. One came w/ the bumper, but Im not putting it on. I like the idea of more air...

Ernie,
Looks good. Does this work with the 99 underbelly pan or did you use the stock bellypan? Also what about the ducting for the oil coolers? Is it built into the fascia or did you modify yours? Are those ducts in front of the tires for the oil cooler air exhaust?
Thanks,
Mark

From the front wheels forward, it looks bad a$$! But once the rest of the car comes into the picture, it does look kinda out of place. Get some sideskirts and rear and you got one nice car!
And can you lower your FMIC a little? It seems that the upper part of the IC is being blocked from the bumper. And plus, it'll look better if you can see the WHOLE FMIC! Just my 0.02

Looks pretty good.
On that first picture it looks like your headlight doors are a bit high. Look at the pasenger side one. Might just be the photo. But if not, loosen up the four screws and line those babies up with the bumper.
My $ 0.02 , As long as your happy.... thats all that matters.

As for the Apex FMIC, it does sit a bit high, but in order for me to drop it, I'd have to cut and reweld the end tanks. I don't feel like doing all that, especially if I ever sell it. It still sits pretty well in the opening.
Erniet,
Who did you get the GTC bumper from? how much too? If you want, you can email me back at homiedru@hotmail.com.
