Black smoke...very thick when flogged

when the car is idling..at round 750rpms or so, if i bump the throttle just a little (this only happens when it is barely tapped and then let off very quick) the car revs up 200rpms or so and then drops below 750 to around 500...if i keep doing this after about 3 times the car almost dies on me and when bogs back up it smokes a ton of thick black...i guess this is a really rich mixture...the only mods are a downpipe thats it no ecu mods or anything. there is no black smoke when the car is revved normally through the rpm range and driven normal, only occurs when bumping the throttle

should i do something bout this?
