Bizarre electrical problem/question

Hi all!

I just got my FD up and running not too long ago, but haven't (until now) had the time nor desire to install a CD player in it. Recently, when I attempted an install, I realized that the unit was not getting the "always on" 12v power, so I checked my fuses. I mention this because I just didnt notice this problem till I tried to install the CD player..

I am going to skip a lot of in between stuff after the failed CD player installand make a long story short... !

-----------
For some reason, whenever my "room" fuse is installed, the car acts like I turned the ignition to the "on" position (and for that matter, when I turn off the car and remove the key after installing the "room" fuse while the engine is still running, the engine will not turn off!!)
-----------

I have a couple ideas as to where to start in troubleshooting my electrical system...
... but I thought I would ask here on the forum to see if anyone has heard of/ seen this kind of thing (before I dive into my electrical system diagnosis/troubleshooting adventure!!)

Thanks in advance to any of you who have input..
and thanks for looking!!
Dan

Do you have a turbo time installed?

Weird problem though.
