big coolant leak? what is it

Well all of a sudden i got this massive coolant leak, and i found it, its coming from the back side of throttle body, i think its part of the throttle body assymbly itself because of where the leaks looks like its coming from, it is dripping down this screw and when i move the screw it moves some of the butterflies in the TB, and the throttle assembly itself

i dont really know what the piece is but i didnt know anything cooling related ran through that part of the car, i was about to remove the TB but i couldnt get to the bottom right bolt because there is a line running right under it so i cant get a socket around, so i thought i would ask before remove the whole uim and TB to inspect the piece,

i looked in my workshop manual and couldnt find anything in there either..

Thanks

The TB has a coolant line (to keep it from icing over in the winter months of the south pole) Its very possible its leaking from there. One of the newbie sites has a write up on how to bypass it.

There are two main hoses that carry coolant in that area. One runs from the top firewall-most side on the TB (from a right angled nipple, easiest thing to spot) down to the backside of the engine block, almost impossible to see or get to without pullng the UIM. The other is a short right angled hose under the TB itself, towards the firewall side (so as you are looking at the passenger fender, it's in the lower right hand side of the TB). Oddly, there have been a few leaks from these recently...

its dropping like a constant stream, and it looks like its actually dripping from the fast idle cam, so i am guessing it broke come how and instead of delivering coolant to the TB, its dripping down

if you have a leak coming from there I would suggest doing two things.Take the colant hose from the top of the throttle body and connect it to the bottom on.Therefore eliminating coolant flow through your throttle body.Next safety wire the fast idle cam about half way so that the car doesnt always think its cold and never drops the idle down to normal. This is a pretty quick fix.
