Best Shipping Company?

Anyone know any shipping companies that are reliable? I want a fast, careful shipping company. And I heard lots of terrible stories about the Dependable Auto Shippers, and don't know if I should use it. Anyway, I'll probably choose the door-to-door service. Any suggestions? I don't want a scratch on my car.

Just name one that's good at closed carrier, door-to-door shipping

Check out http://www.intercitylines.com. I used them to transport my car across the country and they really take care of the car. They use enclosed trucks and cover the car with a cotton car cover and cover that with plastic sheeting so that nothing gets on the car. The drivers were also very professional, kept in contact with me, and were on time for both the pickup and delivery.

I have also heard good things about http://www.horselesscarriage.com, but I have never used them.

Good luck

I used DAS to ship my FD and ddn't have any problems. You want someone who actually owns the trucks, not someone who subcontracts. I think times are delayed across the board right now due to our national problems.

If you want a quote from Intercity Lines and there is a problem with their websight, just give them a call (800-221-3936). They were very helpful when I contacted them. By the way, if you are shipping your car from California to the East Coast and you are flexible about the pickup time, the price is $1099 (see the Specials section).

Intercity only serves a limited number of stops, so they may not be able to help you, as was the case with me.

I went with Horseless Carriage, but I can't give a review yet, because they're on the 9th day of their 5-10 day estimate for pick-up, and the car is still sitting in the dealership's showroom in Chatom, AL. They estimated 5-10 days for delivery also, so it looks like they're not the speediest guys in the world, but apparently from what I've heard, they do take very, very good care of your car on its journey. They deliver Ferraris to Microsoft, among other things.

I'd like to ship the car from Iowa to Cali. Well, which company has the better price? And which is more reliable? Time is not the most important factor, the safety of the car is.

They're both supposed to be excellent. They were the two top recommendations by Z06Vette.com forum members.
