Hey guys.Im just wondering where is the best place to get a 5 speed tranny so that I can swap it out with my auto one.I know theres more to the swap than just trannies.Would anyone buy a rebuilt tranny from say clean and fast or a wrecked fd? Or should I just save myself the trouble and buy a remanned one from malloy?
Also if anyone knows where I can pick up all the other components that are also needed for the swap id really appreciate the help.All I need is some good places to buy parts from.Thanx.

 

try www.car-part.com it's a large database.... that's at least where I'd start, or look for someone parting there car out in the for sale section.

You need a lot more than a trans to convert. Trans, starter, driveline, diff, pedals, ECU, etc.

aRex-7 has a 5spd swap kit FS I think.

He is a member and a personal friend, PM him. He is a nut/fiend FD like myself, I think he's working on FD #9 right now.

When you ask if you should go new or rebuilt, well you at least have to buy some of the parts used. You could get a used trans and have it rebuilt. The FD trans should be able to be rebuilt by anyone.
