Best fuel pump? Walbro? Others?

My search was somewhat inconclusive. Is the stock pump fine for stock injectors and minor mods? What would be a good replacement pump?

Depends on your fuel rail pressure at full boost. If you don't plan on running more than 67 psi a Supra pump will flow the most of the bolt ons. If you plan on making it up into the 67+ area the Walbro 255HP flows more (and draws less amps).

0.6 BSFC
50 psi
Supra: 701.3 HP
Walbro: 665.0 HP

75 psi
Supra: 522.8 HP
Walbro: 573.4 HP

From what I've read anything over 75 psi rail pressures is supposed to be hard on injectors...time to upgrade to larger units if you have to run that much pressure.

With either pump power is VERY important if you want them to perform 100%. Dump the stock power wiring and run 10 gauge direct from the battery or alternator with a 30 AMP capable fuse and relay (actuated by the stock pump control system). Run a 10 gauge ground too.

I would go with the replacement from RX7.com. It's a direct drop in replacement.

Hmmmm....this sure looks like the way to go!

http://www.rx7.com/store/rx7/fdfuel.html

Price is good, and it outflows a Walbro. Not sure how this compares to the much-vaunted Supra pump......?

You know, I am not sure I need this, but....better safe than sorry with a new engine, huh?

Their flow tests claim more flow than I've seen from independent tests of the Supra and Walbro pumps. If its true then that is the way to go.
