5. HKS DOWNPIPE.
do you think the M2 OR PETTIT E.C.U. would be able to push 15 or 16 psi...with my mods... i want to avoid payin so much money for the power fc or halteck but if i have no other choice i'll have to go for one of them..

Ok, one thing I don't get about the 3k hesitation. No one had any kind of 3k hesitation when their car was new, right? So something must have happened to the car between when it was new until now, post 3k hesitation. Right? So the 3k problem isn't exactly a problem with the ecu, because it has been shown that replacing a stock ecu with another stock ecu doesn't fix the problem on a car with the 3k hesitation, even if the new ecu came from a car without it. So, therefore the true source of the problem must be coming from outside of the ecu. True, the way the PFC controls the secondaries causes the problem to disappear, but whatever the orignal cause was is not addressed. AHHHHH so we still don't know the true cause!!! Is it grounding? Is it sticky injectors? Dying battery? This is killing me!

its also casued from bad grounding. for some people, the ground straps worked from Pettit. for others, it didnt.

If I am running a full cat back system, DP, intake, and midpipe what ECU should I go with. I dont have tons of money to spend on it and I was leaning towards a used pettit ECU. Or a group buy if someone will set it up. Can the pettit ECU handle these mods? I am still planning on adding more mods also.

yeah...uoill be fine with a Pettit ECU. it can even support an intercooler and streetported engine on top of that....but that'll be pushin it.

I got the pettit ecu and I wish I had gotten the pfc. I am not selling mine unless I can find a good deal on a pfc and a good deal on my pettit ecu. The pettit ecu does not get rid of the 3k hesitation.

If it is the ground, it is either the CPU or the fuel injection which I've not fixed yet. I've replaced the firewall ground with the new one listed in the TSB, cleaned the ground on the harness to the intake, cleaned the ground to the motor\trans, put new ground after the cat on the exhaust. I've added new grounds on the muffler to the frame, the battery to the motor, and the battery to the shock tower(Pettit type fix). Still the same damn thing...

Also checkout the new AEM ECU. It's a standalone ecu that can control EVERYTHING. It has a 45 minutes datalog capablility and it's supposely better then motec but for under $2k, release date is Jan 02. If you go to the supra forum there's a long thread from Jason S who now works for AEM and ex owner of ASP racing. It sounds too good to be true.

If you have the PowerFC and want to get downpipe, exhaust, intake, intercooler... do you have to tune the PFC or will it work fine with these mods? Do you tune the PFC only when getting a bigger turbo or what?? thanks

The AEM ECU does everything, including the control of the oil metering pump, and has no wiring to be done.
