beltronics gtech timer
hey i was out messing around the other night, and decided to a 0-60 test since i put on my new mods (sig) well i quickly learned how much worse the wheel hop was so i had to let off the a bit. well as i was going through my very embarrassing 0-60 i noticed it kept my peak horsepower number. it was 303 which i thought was pretty high and just dismissed it since i really havent set it or dont remember setting it up for my car. so today for ***** and grins i decided to take off 15% and it came out to be 258. so im thinking that could be a fair assesment with the mods that i have and looking over at wargasm\'s website and comparing other peoples mods to mine. does anyone use the dyno graph on their gtech or some other comparable product? maybe i was able to get the 258 out of dumbluck who knows.

dave,
do you have one? i went to the track with it and was accurate down to the 10th of a second on the quarter. but that is really the only numbers that i have tested on this device. do you know of any other devices that are more accurate?

Josh,
The G-Techs are fairly accurate (once calibrated) when the tests are done properly. Where the do differ the most is the "Trap Speeds". The way the calculate their number is "different" than the way drag strips do. It's not really "wrong", just "different".
IIRC a drag strip does the average speed over the last XX part (I'm not sure of the distance) of the run to determine the trap speed. The G-Tech just gives the final speed at the end of the run so it's typically higher than the drag strip. However, the times are usually fairly close.
