Bein Bad: ECU

Well, this might be the saddest thing you see ever, but, I am pretty restricted on modding my car by the rents. (PS, I paid for the car.....) Anything that is obviously out of place when you open the hood is something that I can not get away with. I bought my car with a downpipe, midpipe, rb dual cat back on 18's and eibachs. the car is on it's stock ecu boost controlled to 8 psi. Also it's an automatic (reason for 8psi). The general consensus around here is 2 mods and then an ecu upgrade. Looks like I'm breaking that little rule, but upgrading the ecu=morehp=nono. Still, I'm not particularly intrested in my engine with 87,xxx miles on it blowing because of the air flow.....I'm goin out of town on thursday and am thinking about giving the car to my dad's friend to take up to pettit to upgrade the ECU. (What a good friend eh?) About how much do you think this will be, how long will it take, and what potential problems to I face with the new chip?
