Battery Relocation Question
Hello. My question for everyone is in regards to the positive cable. I was wondering if anyone has just connected one end of the cable to the starter terminal. Would this work? Or does the positive lead need to go from the battery to the fuse box that connected to the stock location? Or could you run the main lead from the battery to the starter and then have a lead go from the starter with a smaller gauge to the fuse box that bolted to the factory location positive terminal? Thanks for the info.

What do you mean high heat area? I dont think that the starter is a very high heat area. Not to mention that i could run the cable from the starter under the car and up through the floor board near the rear bins. That should make for a nice short cable. Its an option. Might be kind of dangerous near the fuel lines and all. I'll have to take a look. The car only has and likely ever will have the eibach pro kit on it. So its not dumped. Its actually welders cable not car stereo nonsense. It is really flexible and very well shielded. Plus it has a great resistance to temperature.

Running the cable under the car is not a great idea from a safety standpoint. If the cable becomes compromised in an accident lots of amps will be dumped before the breaker kicks in. If the fuel lines are compromised at the same time, life could get interesting.

I like the wording you used there. Your right It isnt the best idea. However i dont really know what is. Some people are saying that they run it through an area behind the fender liner. That could be just as easily compromised i should think. Get hit in the fender and have the hole close up on the cable. I'll probably run it under the fender liner into the car, then down the kick panel and up into the bin area. Hmm. I'm going to have to go stare at my car for a while.
The fender route is a better choice because at least in the unfortuneate situation of an accident and the cable is comprimised at least it is not right near a fuel line so that a spark would ignite any leaking fuel. This distance would at least give the breaker enough time to trip and eliminate power in the wire.
