Question Battery relocation???

I bagan relocating my battery to the hatch area tofay, but I'm already stuck!

It's f***ing impossible to pass the cable from the engine bay to the compartement!
I've tried to slide it through everywhere I can see other cables, but it just stops.
Help me!!

And.. I didn't search because I'm pissed!!
I got blood all over my hands and feel like throwing my new battery as far as possible...
I know this is supposed to be a easy install, that just makes me more angry...

i know where to go

i know where to go. if you are looking at the front of the car go to the right front wheel and remove the wheel liner. there is a little black rubber grommet thing you can cut and go through.

That or you can drill a hole in firewall and pass it through there. Remember though if the metal is sharp - well even if it is not - protect the wire so that it will not wear through. Sorry i don't have any pics of where I passed mine through.

Thanks a lot guys!

In furious anger I drilled a hole in the firewall, and by a strike of luck I did not damage anything.

Now I have to take a walk down the road and search for my 10mm-pipe..
Threw it away in a bad attempt at anger-management...

Just to illustrate ttpowerd's point about protecting the cable, here's what I wound up doing.. I drilled a hole, for lack of a better place to pass it through, and made a grommet out of a piece of 1/2" copper pipe. On the side that sits in the car, I flared the pipe with a brake-line flaring tool, and used a little silicone to glue it up in there.. now where it makes the sharp bend just inside the firewall, it's nice and smooth..

I was thinking about relocating my battery but don't have all of the info. So basically what you do is: get long peace of 4 gauge wire and connect it where original terminals are and move it to the rear bin? If this is correct do you cut off those metal terminals and connect the wire to them or what's the other way?

Thanks

this was part of a few things I did to my car.... it was a bitch. Hardest part was the rubber grommet on the firewall. It will cut you hands up a lot more than I expected if your working under and around all those plastic panels.

As mentioned, there is a double layer oval rubber "window" on the drivers side which is behind the plastic wheel liner.

You have to make a slit in both layers of the rubber which is in my estimation about 1/4 inch apart. The rubber is about 1/4 inch thick as well.

Make the slit(I cut an "X") and then feed the cable through about 1 foot. Go into the cabin and llok for the cable that you just passed.

It's actually pretty easy.
