Bad primary turbo,.....or engine?

What are the things to look for in order to distinguish difference between bad primary turbo or bad engine.???

Scenerio: Car smokes a little at cold start-up (every morning). Smoke completely goes away after 2-3 minute warm up. Car smokes moderatley when WOT, but stops smoking at secondary turbo transition. Pulls/accelerates very hard throughout rpm range. If the problem is with the Primary Turbo, can it be repaired with a "kit".?? if so, where can I purchase the kit? Thanks for your anticipated help and advise.

Thanks 911GT2: Probably a stupid question, but, ..Is there power loss (even slightly) when P/T is burning oil??

Probably a slight loss, because the turbo has to work harder to hit 10 psi, but it may or may not be noticeable depending on how bad the leak is. Long answer short: it depends.

911GT2: Is it a fairly minor repair job involving changing out gaskets and/or o-rings? And is the Primary Turbo easy to take out (just bolts?) of manifold and easy to take apart for the repair/rebuild? Thanks for your input. Much appreciated.
