Bad mazda paint?

So far i've seen 3 BLACK fds, and it appears to me, that each one of them have rippled paint right under the door where the rear wheel is. Is this a coincidence that each one of these had paintjobs, or is the original bad paint from mazda? paint isnt smooth at all, looks rough and has ripples.

It's supposed to be rough, I think it's something to do with helping to keep and tar/debris from sticking to them. Could be wrong though. I have a BB '93 and I have the same thing.

is it rippled, or is it the rock guard?

the rock guard is present on most sportier cars, and helps in defense against chipping and the like....

however, to make a statement that many will concur with, mazda factory paint sux!

the rock guard is present on most sportier cars, and helps in defense against chipping and the like....it runs the lenght of the sides of the car, from the rear of the front fender well, to the front of the rear fender well...

Look closer, you will see it runs the entire length of the car. From the front fenders back. It is supposed to be there.

That's how it is, more durable paint for the lower area against rocks and debris.
