bad coolant seals?

i got my fd about 6 months ago and i was driving it around for about a month at least every other day and just before I decided to redo the vaccum lines i only moved it in and out of my shop. It would sit for about 4 days and when I would move it out it would blow white smoke until it warmed up and smelled rich. I noticed it got gradually harder to start every time but if I drove it around the block it would be fine after it wrmed up and if I started it every day it would be fine. The smoke only came if it sat for a few days. You think the seals are bad or could it be something else?
