Backfire

What's up with all this backfiring? EVERYTIME I start to get off the throttle, the car backfires like two or three times. When I turn the car off, after a few seconds it backfires again. Is this a premanition of a problem starting or am I running too rich?

Mine does it every now and then when I am shifting under hard acceleration. The normal backfiring is ok such as what you and I have stated. If it starts backfiring consistently (one right after the other) then it could be signs of a prob. But if it just does it here and there like mine than I think you are alright.
Plus sometimes it scares the hell out of people that are beside you.

backfire = unburnt fuel = maybe you need new plugs. when was the last time they were changed?

a little bit of backfiring is normal. Do you have any mods?

Mild AFTERBURN is very common for DP equipped FD's as the unburend HCs ignite explosivly in the dp insted of burning smothly in the precat

I never get out of the car until I hear the last key-off "Pop!"
I can usually time it and snap my finger at moment of detonation.
Impresses the ladies.
