AWS Block off??

thought i should ask the question, it never hurts. I just pulled out my UIM to block off the AWS system, and the gaskets cracked and peeled off in peices. lol. anyway, do i really need new gaskets just to block the area off?? or can i just use RTV Black and call it good?

Make sure you scrape all the old gasket off of there. I'd use RTV short term, but I'd consider getting new gaskets for the long term. The newer gaskets from Mazda are metal and work really well.

Block-off plates should be installed ONCE, never leak, and you should never have to worry about them.
