AVC-R sensor and solenoid locations

The unit I bought was supposedly new, but it was missing parts when I got it. So much for a private seller on ebay...

Anyway, I was trying to find locations for mounting the boost sensor and the solenoid that would be out of the way. The instructions say to use the included rubber mount for the solenoid, but of course I don't have it. I cobbled up a couple of brackets and mounted them. If these look like stupid locations, can someone chime in and tell me so and why? I'm kind of guessing here.

First, the boost sensor. The directions say to mount it with the nipple down. I hung it on a bracket that hold some electrical connections behind the ABS and below where a torque damper would be mounted.

Now the solenoid. I made another bracket and mounted the solenoid to it with a piece of EDPM foam rubber between the solenoid and the bracket. I also put a neoprene washer between the aluminum bracket I made and the underlying bracket that hold the fan relays. I'm hoping that gives enough isolation for the solenoid.

Again, any suggestions, comments, even criticisms would be appreciated. Will this work?

Thanks. I saved that cached page on my computer one time when you posted the link before. It is helpful. I can't mount the solenoid where he did, or at least it is harder since my intake isn't as far forward as his.

Any problems you see with where I have it mounted?

BTW, what happened to clubRX.org. The site has been down for a long time.

inline air filter for boost sensor?

Reading the instructions that came with the ACV-R, it mentions an inline air filter to put in the line running to the boost sensor. Well, along with a few other things, it was missing in the EBC that I bought.

- How important is it?
- Where would I find one to go in the 3.5mm hose line that I'm using?

It would be similar to the one used on the stock MAP sensor. You could order a stock one and use it there. Typically sensors like that use some sort of screen to:

1) Ensure clean air is coming to the sensor to help it last
2) Even out the airflow for the sensor to have a better reading

I would recommend getting one but I've seen people not use them.
