AVC-R mounting solutions? Please help

Hello again,

Was looking to do something along the lines of this. The head unit currently in my car is a double din and I just bought an Alpine IDA-X001 which is a single. (Pretty sweet unit BTW)

I don't have an AVC-R yet, but plan to get one sometime in the near future and i'd like to work something out along these lines. I really don't like having thing stick out like my A-Pillar mounts so i'm trying to avoid mounting my Satillite radio and future AVC-R out in the middle of nowhere.

This picture came from Robinette's site and I was wondering where I might get something to cover up the other half that my head unit leaves open.

OR!

If anyone else has ideas on mounting gauges/faceplates/headunits elsewhere that seems to be flush with the dash i'd be very intrested.

Thanks in advance!

My AVC-R is mounted in a similar fashion, but my AVC-R is in the bin below my CD player. I also have a door on my bin, and when the door is closed you cannot see my AVC-R. Unfortunately, I am not with my car right now (deployed), so I cannot send you pics.

akiratdk used to make single din plates with cut outs for such things. PM him and ask about it. They looked like very nice pieces.

Awesome, thanks a bunch for the help guys. Another thing I was thinking about doing was something similar to this. I really like the idea of having things either hidden or out of the way.

Does anyone know where I might get something like this? Looks almost like a custom CF job.. I don't care whether it's CF or not. I might just be able to make something like this but i'd rather buy it.. lol, excuse the laziness :P
