Autometer Electronic Temp Guage

I've recently had a this temp guage installed in my car.. I've noticed that under accelleration my car seems to quickly heat up to just under 195 degrees. And then soon after laying off the pedal it quickly returns to 180...Has anyone else ever seen this. If its not the guage then what could cause the car to do this. I find it hard to believe it would climb 15 degrees so rapidly and then return to normal after laying off the gas. I'm not sure if its associated with the electronic guage or what would be cuasing this. I just flushed the coolant trying to see if that would help and it hasn't. Any suggestions will help. Thanks

Of course your temps will rise when you haul a$$ on the car because you are creating more friction/heat. but i do not notice that large of an increase when looking at my gauge. Only a few degrees. I would see a significant increase if i were to say take the car hard through the gears and then stop at a redlight and just wait and wait....of course then i turn on the fans.

I merely getting on the boost ever so slightly and my temps are rising. I'm really not sure why....Simply under normal accelleration its doing this. I understand the whole concept of how the engine is going to heat up under heavier loads, but this just seems a lot to me for harldly getting on the pedal. Thanks for you input

Where are you getting your 12V source from? Maybe you are not delivering enough juice, and when you get on it, the engine spins faster, the alternator turns and you make a bit more juice, that alters the signal from the sender.

mine did that exact same thing a few months ago. Turned out the thermostat was the culprit of my problems.
