Automatic Shift problems
Ok, I'm upset. About a week ago my hold light started come on and blink while I was driving, but there hasn't been any difference in driving or performance. Oh ya, I just finished a rebuild, and car currently has 600miles on it. After about 3 days of my light blinking I was told to do a diag check. The error that is coming up is 6 which is Speed Sensor 1 error. I took the sensor out and then checked it on an ohm-meter to make sure it was pulsing, which it was, and put it back in. It seem to drive fine for about 2 hours then my car started having shifting problems, and the hold light has only come on once since them. The car will shift too early, too late. Sometime the car will accelerate to 20mph and will not accelerate any farther, but my rpms will continue to go up. So I drove my car home slowly after work and started it in park and just watched it. It sounded all right except for a little rough idle. Then I noticed my Upper radiator hose was bulging and starting to balloon. My stock water temp gauge has basically just sat at halfway since I've had the rebuild finished. So I plan on replacing the thermostat and the hoses. What I really want to know is, do you think the stuck thermostat and the car not properly cooling is what is making my tranny act up??? Or has anyone had problems like this before?
Thanks so much for your time.....I'm going crazy.

Iam having a problem with my tranny as well. I just had mine rebuilt about 1500 miles ago. Ran the car with no turbos for 1k and 500 with the turbos back on. It ran fine till 5-6 days after I hooked the turbos up again. Then the car would shift once and never again no matter what. If I left it in L it would go to redline if I had it in D it would go to around 40 then just rev to redline. I found out my mechanic switched my tranny fluid and the car had 100k miles on it that could be the first problem. But if that was it then it would slip into first I thought. Second I found a ground wire by the tranny ecu disconnected reconnected that nothing and then I found missing hoses still working on that since its my first rx-7. but see if your mechanic switched the tranny fluid new fluid on old tranns eat through your internals. O atleast you can check your hold light the *** that owned the car before me removed the hold light and button and I have no idea where the light even goes.
