You can run an aftermarket ECU as a piggyback. Do a search on this.

We need an Automatic group that has 3rd gen auto modded out. I too would like to add a Power FC, Haltech e6x or k to mine. One question I have is does the auto tranny car ECU HAVE to continue looking at the E shaft position sensors ? How do you wire in a Haltech or Power FC and retain these signals or the throttle position sensor. ?

I have a purple box I bought used from Pettit, it has a 3 postion selector switch, that I am told changes it to 10-12-14psi. It is a piggyback unit, and I used to run it. I am rebuilding my 7 that I have had since 1998. This time I want to do it right and I want to retain my auto. If a FC works do all the features of the FC still work. Is there a way I can change the shift points on my Mazda auto tranny. Has anyone ever done this before?

I used to work at Hypertech in Memphis tunning domestics, at one time I was the lead tuning technician. I was wondering if anyone has a dyno and some equipment I need to tune the Mazda automatics. My 2 year no-compete runs up in January of 2005.

PFC has been used on Autos allthough it states it's for Manual.
Buddy Club makes a piggy back ECU that is specific for Auto's. You can change the shift points, remap the fuel (controls two pumps) and has ouput for water injection or other.

The local SoCal distributor is no longer in business since they have their own US SoCal office now but you can purchase from www.rotaryextreme.com or contact http://www.buddyclub.us/ for a distributor.
