Just to hammer down the point...

If you look at the gap between the IC and the PS wall above the coolant hose, there is no room at all. The widest part of the intake has to fill that spot and unfortunately, that isn't going to happen without alot of work.

As an update,

Greddy SMIC + Autoexe intake + Fluidine rad + battery = WIN!

Not sure if anyone else commented on this yet, but this is what I was thinking too... unless the bottom of it is open to allow airflow to come in from the stock location, I don't see this thing getting enough airflow from the bottom.. thats 2 90 deg bends the air has to go through. ok, so maybe the velocity of the air has increased because of the small space it goes through, but still.. which would u rather have? more air volume or small air vol @ higher velocity? I have no idea what a higher air velocity would mean...

now I think about it, the small opening leads to a large opening before it hits all the intake tubes, which means that air velocity would drop.

I think the intake will work because it is actively pulling air from a fresher location.

I've been seeing around < 35 celsius at speed with the relatively small greddy smic. The temps would also go down almost immediately if I was going very fast. This could be from my new fast acting intake sensor though but I definitely remember a longer wait with my previous setup. Either way, more direct ducting would help I'm sure but I'm happy with what I'm seeing right now. With WI I think I'll be even happier :).

Andy, you know my idea of a modified front plate to increase the volume of air.

hey Supernaut, what kind of air temperature you see with this intake?

Cruising, on a hot day, I see around 38 celsius. On a cold day I see around 35 celsius. Temps go down REALLY fast at speed. Its hard to say how much I get cruising around town. I do get heatsoaked in traffic but it is definitely better than what I experienced before. Also keep in mind that I upgraded alot of stuff at once so it is hard to tell where my improvements came from. When I get more seat time in the car, I'll post some updates.

No I had the stock IC. I just have an M2 medium and large as extras hahaha.
