auto vs. manual part #'s
the #'s for a auto and manual motor are different.

all i need is to make certain that the only difference between the two is the flywheel.

that's it...... any info you can give would be great!!

They are different. You can't use a manual motor on an Auto Tranny. You can go the other way around (Auto motor on a manual tranny).

why is that? my car is a manual. if i got an auto motor will i need special parts to make it work?

You can use an auto motor with the manual tranny. The difference the other way around is (IIRC) that you can't bolt up the auto starter to the rear housing of manual motor.

If i'm not mistaken, the starter will not interchange between the two....
