auto tranny problems

The tranny doesnt want to shift out of the low gears. When I'm in D the car goes strong till 60 mph I feel it shift once but then around 5k rpm nothing. Feels like it goes to shift but ends up in neutral. Would the problem be the tranny computer or maybe a valve, vaccum line. If it is the tranny computer does anyone know of a company that reworks the computer to change the shift points. When I got the car the shift **** was changed and no hold button was present, but the car shifted fine. Last does anyone know who could convert my car to a manual in the new york area. Thanks

What do you mean when you said it "ends up in neutral??"

usually when you depress the hold button, it will downshift to 3rd gear and wont go to 4th gear...

Since you dont have the hold button, maybe you lose the 4th gear??

Try checking the auto ECU on the passenger side... maybe the wiring harness is loose...

1.Check fluid level
2.Check Trans. ECU codes (cross TAT and ground in Diag. box under the hood) cut switch on and watch Hold light to see how many times it blinks.
3.Reset engine and tranny ECUs

just a couple of thoughts...

I agree with BigAl above, if that doesn't work I could sell you my old autotranny ECU. I also have a whole auto tranny if you want to buy another one.
