auto-manual ecu???

i have read past threads of fd auto to manual swaps,now i still dont understand why i would need to change the wire harnest and ecu,what does that have to do with a transmission swap.i have done these swaps on fcs and never have to touch the ecu

you dont have to swap the harnesses and ecu to get the car to run. you wil have several unused plugs from the auto trans and there is another little box near that ECU that can also be removed, but whole harness and ECU swap is not required.
