Auto-5swap Clutch Pedal Questions
I'm currently doing an auto to 5speed swap and have questions on the clutch pedal... "where does the starter interlock switch harness and the clutch switch harness connect to?"

John - this is where most folks have trouble with 5 speed swaps, but really it is simple if you study up on it with the manual. The auto dash harness does not have those connectors for the clutch switch and starter interlock switch. So you have to wire up a custom circuit to the proper wires on those connectors by the passenger kick panel.
Look at the manual pages Z-25 and 26 at the differences between manual and automatic wiring. You will understand. Personally I did not run wires from the X-05 connector - instead I just soldered wires R/Y and L/Y together at blue connector X-05. Sure my car could start with the clutch out, but that will not happen becauise I will not allow it to happen.
I have drawings of my custom wiring using the existing Auto harness, send me your e-mail and I'll send them to you.

It just takes careful planning, studying the manual, plotting a course and following it out. I bet I spent two months drawing my wiring out on paper, gathering the parts, making my plan and then - I was ready - the day came and I dropped out that hunk of trash auto tranny and put the manual in and from there it's been " Fun, Fun , Fun"

Quote - Badddrx7, you basically soldered r/y to l/y? With this the clutch does not have to be depressed to start, correct? What wire did you run to the starter then?
When you solder these two heavy gauge wires together, then you essentially have bypassed the clutch pedal switch. I felt that I did not need it so I went this way. There is nothing done to the wiring to the starter. Those wires are left unmolested.
