Attn. Racing Beat Dual Owners...

Hey--I'm going to be buying this catback sometime this week. I would like to make sure that it's not louder than I would like. I would like to call one of you who has it, and physically hear you rev it up a few times. I know it sounds goofy, but I'm ****, and afraid of being disappointed when I install a $500 muffler 'sight unheard.' If anyone has this catback with a DB and MP, please leave me your phone #. I'd really appreciate it. thanks--BN

It's definitely not loud, put it this way, if this exhaust is too loud for you then your **** out of luck because there aren't any quieter ones out there except for stock. Adding a Borla XR1 to your midpipe will make it even quieter. It does get loud at WOT, but during cruise and idle it's barely louder than stock.

I have it on my car and it's not as loud as other exhausts.

Dual RB

I've owned both the Dual RB and the Single tip as well as the N1. Nothing beats a Dual Tip racing beat for driving right by the cops. I was Downpipe and mid for years makes a great sleeper car with the dual tip. It just looks so much like a stock muffler its great. When you are at WOT it sounds like *** to me soooo much air trying to get out. sounds like a whooooooosh. Since I went to a single and the waistgate opens the woosh seems to have gone away. Just the waistgate dumping at the pasg firewall is all I get at WOT now.

Right now my car is on jack stands w/o wheels but maybe when I get my wheels back. I have the DP and MP as well, before that the exhaust was pretty quiet. I have had lots of offers for people to buy my exhaust and also lots of compliments on the exhaust not. I am sure you will not be disappointed with it. When I first bought the car I wanted a canister exhaust but after hearing how unique the RB is I don’t know if I can change.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention have non-seq as well, that changes the exhaust note slightly.

Hey Cyberben: I just ordered an RB dual tip last week from Rotor Motorsports... they called and told me Racing Beat has it on back order for 3 weeks. If you don't mind, let me know if you find a place that has it in stock when you go to buy it. I'm really anxious to get it

If you want to hear what a RD Dual with a Random Tech hiflow cat and an Apexi single (and therefor a DP too) sounds, you can call me.

Keep in mind that as you open up the exhaust with a hi flow cat, MP, DP, and a single turbo kit (removes the restrictive turbo/waste gate manifold), the louder it gets.

I had an N1 Dual (with silencers) when stock seq turbos (and DP, hi flow cat) and it was acceptable noise wise.

After I went single, it got LOUD, so swapped out for a RB Dual. Much better, but still a tiny bit loud when opening it up. PM me if you want to hear.

I'll drive my car to you

CyberBen if you are in the St. Louis area I could drive my car to you so you could get a real listen to the RB dual tipe with a downpipe. It sounds good. I'm in the Carbondale, IL area.

I have it with a Hi Flow Cat and DP. It's not very loud but it is noticeable to people. It's got a throaty rumble too it. I notice people's heads turning more so I'm sure it makes its presence known but it's not obnoxious.

I'm guessing a MP would change a lot of that but that's not for me now.

Wink

F*ck the quiet ****. Go with the setup I have, which is a downpipe, midpipe, and A'pexi GT Spec (3.75") piping. Trust me taking off the cats and going with a huge exhaust system is the way to go.

I have the N1 (unmuffled) right now and was wondering, does the RB dual restrict that much (making the wind noise)? Or should I be better off with the RB single? I'm just looking for a bit quieter w/little to no loss in flow, compared to the N1. Thanks!

I have a dual M2, and I think that it sounds the same compared to RB dual. It is quiet, and is only loud when putting around town. WOT is just a bunch of air.

Thanks again to those who I called and had put the phone by the exhaust pipe for me. It was goofy, but it helped a great deal. I was fortunate enough to find the exhaust used (a month old) for $230. SWEET!!!--BN

I happen to like 'the quiet ****' I dont want to look like some highchool retard riceboy with a shitty exhaust on a 300hp car. If it were 450 horse then maybe loud wouldn't be too bad.
John

The RB dual tip is definitely the way to go.

Same here Jodeny, if I drop 3 or 4 hp but the car still makes over 400hp who cares? I mean I've been in some cars that people have claimed to be streetable-HA! They smell like raw fuel, ride like ***, rattle, and are so loud, that all the money they spent on their high end ghetto stereo went to waste because there's no clarity unless the car is parked and shutoff. WTF? So you tell me how you'd be driving that "streetable" car back and forth to work 50 miles a day. Also, it's a pain in the *** avoiding cops and tickets-especially in Jersey.

-ed

PS: My loud exhaust got my *** pulled over at a DMV check several years ago in my Grand National. It cost me $2500 in fines and another $250 to get it out of impound (where it was also broken in to). Plus I had to get the car back to stock for another state inspection!

RB dual install?

Just switched from Greddy SP to the RB dual and love it.
The sound is so much more mild with DP and I think it would still sound tame with a high flow cat. That's next.
There was one problem though with the install. Looking from the back there is a braket on the right with two holes only two inches long of the canister. Does this have to be bolted into the fender? I wasn't sure because it looks to me as if the plastic would melt around there.
Let me know so I can tighten that thing up and go out.
Thanks
