AST Question

Did Mazda ever update or improve the ast from 93 to 95. Just wondering if they used a different ast after 93. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

Not that I'm aware of. Your best bet is to purchase an aluminum AST--works like a charm

*Supposedly* the AST was redesigned or otherwise improved (better production techniques? better QC? who knows...) from 93 to 94. I've not heard of any (this is just me, personally) 94+ FD's having the classic AST spewage problems, but I'm definitely of the mind that an Al AST is good insurance for my new engine.

Check out the parts for sale section, as you'll occasionally see good deals on used AST's (after all, what's wrong with used...there's no moving parts!).

Yup. I just got good news, though......I'll be headed down to Kuwait within the next few days and will be back in the States around the 25th of this month or so
