AST mounting does it matter?

hi guys now that ive installed my crooked willow massive standard mount intercooler i have to relocated my AST,,,because ive removed the air pump im looking at mounting it right there on the air pump mounting lug (attached to the thermostat housing),,,
What im wanting to know is it ok to mount the AST anywhere,,, there isnt any special requirments like it has to be higher than the engine or anything is there? (i ask this because some cars require the water holding device to be high in the engine bay,, is it the same for us or not) thanks again

The higher the better, but that location will be fine.
