AST Cap, rebuild and flooding questions. (long)

my motor is completely rebuilt, dropped in and ready to run, only my mechanic either misplaced my AST cap, or someone stole it at the shop.

AST QUESTION:
I have the AST tank made by ASI, the one sold on RX-7Store.net. I need to get a replacement for it as soon as possible. From what I am assuming, it is a standard 13lb pressure cap that I can pick up at any auto parts store, but I dont know what the depth is. Depth meaning how far down the second gasket is supposed to go. Can someone point me in the right direction to getting a new cap? And ASAP? Please tell me that this is a common cap. The one that I have/had (still have the box) is made by parts master, only theres no phone number, contact info, or depth and lb. rating on the box, or anything.

MOTOR QUESTION:
Well, its not entirely ready to run, because for one, the cap isn't even on and it wouldnt last very long anyways.

but my mech tried to get it started today, but it wouldnt even turn over. I replaced my spark plugs, sent my fuel injectors off to get professionally cleaned and benched by RC engineering, upgraded my fuel pump, got a PWR radiator, and of course a street port while I was at it. The problem seemed to be a new oil pedestal (houses oil filter) that I picked up. It was leaking, at the 2 o-rings underneath, due to the clearances being too deep on the housing grooves for the rings. I have already gotten a hold of a new one with a much better "crush" seal on the ring, with shallower grooves which should work fine for sealing it. However, (probably a stupid question but gimme a break, I really dont know my way around this motor yet, Im still learning) I dont know if this is at all related to its inability to start. Well, the obvious remark would be that either way, an oil leak would be bad even if it did start up. So, fixing it before getting it running is a priority here. but again, is fixing it actually GOING to make it run? or is there some other reason that it wouldnt start that I wouldnt be aware of? Im basically asking about common problems with getting a fresh motor fired up and running, and maybe some trouble shooting type suggestions.

And lastly, flooding. From how many times he tried to start it today, he flooded the hell out of it. How do you solve this problem? My mechanic just said he was going to leave it overnight to clear up. Is this all you have to do???

Any help with any of these questions would be greatly appreciated.

The best fix I found for flooding is to spray into the nipple for the boost gauge on the UIM with WD-40. Never tried the ATF deal as WD-40 works for me.

ATF deal? bump. Thx for the suggestion, how does WD-40 clear up the fuel? And, does NE one have answers to my other questions?

I would assume the cap for you AST is a standard cap. I have never heard of anything using a non-standard cap.

The oil leak is not going to cause starting problems.

Have you checked for spark? When I put my reman in, I forgot to plug in the ignition module, and as a result it wouldn't fire up. You probably forgot to plug something in.

ok, motor is now running, only Im not getting any signals to my instrument cluster, and from what the codes said from the check engine light that I was also getting, my mech checked 'em and they're all seeming to be plugged in. And the AST tank is an aftermarket one, and I just wanted to make sure that there was only one type of radiator cap. are there different depths on the second pressure gasket or is there only one size? if there is only one size, it makes my life eaiser.

Why don't you just go to the store and see? I'm 99% sure the dimensions are all the same.
