ASI AST tank questions

I just got the piece in, and it looks great. I have a question about the threading for one of the nipples that comes out of the tank. The other two nipples are welded in, and Im not really worried about those, its just that I was worried about the threaded one, and was wondering if its at all necessary to put some teflon tape on, or some type of thread sealer when I put this nipple in.

Another thing, since I'm hoping that replacing this tank is going to resolve my coolant bubble/boilover problem in the overflow tank, I am replacing the hose that goes from the AST to the overflow tank. Should I replace the other 2 as well? and if so, is this new ast tank going to move the placement of any of the hoses if I get them from mazda? what I mean, is that I'm guessing the hoses are form fitted, and if this new tank is going to move the locations of the nipples, will any of the hoses not fit the new tank? If they do, then is there some sort of replacement for the hoses that works well? Thx for the help, and happy new year guys. Gotta run.

anytime you can insure(teflon tape) that the job is done right i would do it. as for the hoses i would replace them if you are at all worried. they are a few bucks but its best to just replace it. dont chance this car when it comes to the cooling section.

...or just go with the upgraded aluminum one. Even though they were doing everything to cut down on weight, Mazda did put the AST in their for an intendid purpose...

I'm probably a little late with an answer but it is mandatory that you use teflon tape on the overflow nipple any other questions about this or any other products you can call or e-mail direct asiracing@worldnet.att.net
