arghh stupid electrical (speedo problem)

So my speedo likes to work on and off, it usually works fine until i get on the highway and get to like 60 mph. It will start acting crazy and then eventually just stay at 0. Is it a problem with the tach or is the connection with the tranny having issues?

No way for any of us to know. It could be either one, or the wiring harness in between.

I suggest you follow the troubleshooting found in the Factory Service Manual. You can download it from the stickied thread in this forum.

when it stops working, see if moving the steering wheel back and forth make it bounce/work again. if it does you have a bad ground in the cluster harness. i have a post on how to fix if you search. if it stays dead check the plug under the tranny, it tends to come apart, mine did, and it's short on humid weather
