Trust me it's made of aliminium and there is no heat shield to protect it form heat in engine bay and they heat from radiator. I was down at my rx7 specialists about 2 months ago. Tests were performed on a car with this intake after customer was complaining about erratic idle when hot and loss of power. arc intake was at fault, Same test were done on some intercoolers, and many of the aftermarket inetrcoolers tested were better than stock when at speed, but when in at idle some proved worst, alot worst than the stock intercooler does, becaused aliminum tends to be a bit of a heat soaker.
