Arrow Aquamist Install......having trouble priming the pump!

My aquamist install was going great, until the pump refused to um, pump. It gets power and buzzes like a ****, but will *not* suck water in the inlet side. seems to be trying to push from both ends, actually.

For those who have installed their own systems, perhaps you can shed some light on the subject?

hmmm...

How are you trying to prime it? I just hooked up a tire pump to the boost sensor tube and with the car not running and the greddy elbow off (where I have one of the injectors) pushed pressure into the silicon tube until it triggered the switch...then I could hear the pump running and see the water coming out of the nozzle.

OF course I assume that the pump is below the tank? Remove the water supply line from the pump, and wait for water to run out of it...which has removed most of the air from the supply line. Reconnect it and then try.

IT's also possible that your checkvalve is backwards on the spray side?

I actually hooked up all my hardware before doing the wiring, and test-fired the system using the voltage leads directly from the pump to battery power.

I used a little water syringe and squirted some water directly into the pump, then re-attached the nylon hoses. All was good then.

Apparently these pumps aren't self priming, that's why they want the pump installed below the tank. Put your finger over the outlet hose and run the pump while the inlet is immersed in water. This will prime the pump and all will be good until the tank goes dry again...
