Noir is French for Black.
Racing Beat did this awhile back.I am figuring they did it to "tone down" people looking for a SHINEY FART CAN"!

 

It's the world sports exhaust, so there isn't a can.

 

I used to have the World Sports on my Civic, they sound real good on high revs.

 

It looks very much like the autoexe exhaust I have.. except lack of black coating.

 

I like the stealth black look.

noise is determined by the tube diameter as noise moves acc a certain noise'wave', like a sinus wave.

so the smaller the exhaust tube, the smaller the 'wave', the lower the noise level.

If you want to bring down sound, you better have a dual exhaust with 2x50mm than one 80mm tube. Hell, 2X50mm even outflows a single 80mm.

I have a very rare Knight Sports exhaust system with dual tubing of the downpipe header all the way back to the catback (4 mufflers in total) where they come together again in one canister. it flows like nothing else and still keeping a low and deep tone

Sound is very low and

and its a daily driver!!! hah

 

Im curious to hear this on an FD.

But i looked it up and no one has it yet.

 

I'm going have to disagree that twin exhaust pipes will automatically make your cars note more subdued. I am currently running the Apexi N1 Duals and I've not run into a single tip exhaust which is louder across the board then mine. But then again, I have no cats, no resonators, no restrictions or sound deadening material/units what-so-ever.

This (bolded) is more then likely the reason you have a low exhaust note.

 

This is not true as we are not running open pipes, the muffler does most of the noise reduction, all a smaller tube does is speed up the flow.

Check the math, cross section is a function of diameter squared, single 80mm pipe has 28% more cross section than two 50mm

 

You can have any exhaust ceramic coated satin black, it's nothing crazy special. Don't like most new SUV's have exhausts that look like that?

Just make sure the prep work is good

 

Running just a dual tube catback like the Apexi Dual N1 won't make a difference in noise level.

Like I said, my exhaust system is a full dual tube from turbopack upto the rear muffler.
True, it has 4 mufflers (being 2 smaller size canisters instead of the main cat and 2 resonator sections in the rear diff area).

I can tell you this...I'll take this exhaust over ANY large bore Jap style exhaust system anytime (flow and sound wise)

 

this doesn't look like a bad replacement for my Carbon Ti.

HKS 75mm-120mm vs A'PEXi 75mm-80mm-110mm

i love my HKS CarbonTi but i sometimes feel like a ricer when i'm driving, i feel it brings a lot of negative attention. i would love to hear the note and see numbers for the Noir. should at least tone down the amount of times i get pulled over for an aftermarket exhaust.

any idea on the difference in power and flow it should have vs. the HKS?
