You're basically saying you want to change out a relatively quiet exhaust, for one of the loudest available on the market.

The Apexi N1 duals are STUPID loud. I mean it, STUPID loud. They are very loud in the car but 10x worse outside of the car.

I drove behind a friend running a midpipe/N1 duals combo and could not even hear my own car.

The Apexi exhausts are one the the worst sounding and loudest exhausts for this car. I'm surprised you think a Racing Beat is loud. Perhaps it is blown out? Or put a cat on the car or a midpipe with a Magnaflow muffler.

My RB single tip with a resonated MP just purrs. The only way I'd replace it is if I got a HKS 4" Ti

The N1 duel does take a bit of time to get use too. Inside the car is not as bad as being outside of the car.
When you start to hit the upper rev range, the sound is really loud. But it makes the car sound like a race car.

I wouldn't trade it for another exhaust. It fits the personality of the FD.

Your neighbours might not like you after you install it, but at least they'll hear you coming miles away! lol

IMHO, the N1 Dual has to be one of the worst exhausts for the FD. Not only is it obnoxiously loud, it doesn't fit for **** - every FD I've seen has had the black valence on the rear bumper all melted around the exhaust. If you want that look, get some cheapie rice mufflers and have Mr. Muffler weld you up a crap system.

The FD isn't deserving of an exhaust that crappy.

Sad thing is, Apexi makes great products, and their other exhausts are mighty fine. Dunno where they goofed on that one.

Dale

LOL. I think it sounds like a motorboat. I had one for a while and it got old real fast. Got to the point where I was pissing off neighbors and was embarrased to take a girl out. the best thing that happened was I bent it in an accident and tossed it. But hey, whatever you like.

I agree that it doesnt look too great. Friend of mine has one and i think it pokes out a bit looks uneven and slanted. I keep telling her to get something else but she wont.

It is loud but it still sounds good i think.

Wow! Alot of harsh comments.
I remember back in the day the N1's were the exhaust to get!
I guess everyone else likes those massive single tip exhausts.

The exhaust does sound a bit different if you still have the stock twins. Less throaty at the upper range. With the single turbo the sound has gotten alot better.

I don't mind waking up my neighbours! I can't stand when my neighbours start doing yard work early on a weekend!! That is truely irritating!
So whenever I take the car out, the least I can do is return the favor...

So what is the "in" exhaust to have nowadays?

Lates,

I have the Apexi N1 Dual exhaust. And if you run stright exhaust, yes it will be stupid loud. However i have a large resonator inplace of the main cat and it is not too loud at all. Tone nice and deep, with an acceptable volume level.

I will be in the minorty on this one, but i prefer the Apexi N1 dual over the RB exhaust.

I'm with you Re-Amemiya7. It's the only exhaust I wanted because it was duel tipped.

Snub disphenoid,
Nothing is heavier than the stock exhaust! lol

OUCH! I'm keeping my N1 Duals on my Blk FD.. Even though its played out like a **** and most people think its RICE! Without silencers, I personally think its one of the best free flowing exhaust... But I need the silencers on as its freaking LOUD! I'm going to spend another $250-300 on these because I LOVE IT so much!:

But I hear ya Dale.... It does burn your plastic trim on your back bumper and it took me awhile to line it up properly.

I have a T-61, mide pipe, and N1 duals. In the lower ranges it doesn't sound that great, but when your deep in the throttle it sounds like an indy car.

I wouldn't know since I've never picked up a stock exhaust. I'll take your word for it though, hahaha. I have, however, picked up an N1 Dual and compared it to my RB dual tip, and I felt that the N1 was heavier. If it's that heavy...then how is it that loud? I don't get it.

Now the St. May's dual exhaust...that I actually would want on my car.
