This was posted in the Datalogit list:

"APEX in Japan is reorganizing but it won’t affect operations in the States as they are a separate entity. I just had lunch with the U.S. manager two days ago. APEX U.S.A. is actually working on a number of new product lines for the States. In addition to bringing in GIZZMO Electronics, they’ll also be offerings the electronic products from ARK DESIGNS. Some other cool stuff is also in the works.

The yakuza link is actually closer to fact than fiction - they have their hands in everything here. Most people who've live in Japan for as long as some of us have (5 years +) will have a story or two.

According to Apexera's website - they are continuing to sell and service, despite filing for bankruptcy at the start of this month. The brand name has wide appeal - and I'd be surprised if someone didn't step in.

As for PFCs - as many who have tried to get one lately would know - there is a stock issue. Nothing new will be available for a while yet. I've heard estimates ranging from late March to sometime in April or even May.

Note -

If you're going to buy one buy it directly through their website. It's another $20 cheaper over the eBay price.

I just received mine about a week ago. Keep in mind they may be on backorder for a week or two. However, once they get them you will receive it QUICKLY. I can't say enough good things about those guys. They have great service.

If they don't have it in STOCK you won't get one. Simple solution - get a guarantee before you bid. Otherwise, yeah - it'll work.

Yakuza...I know a shop that was here in the US. And relatives were yakuza. Hence, that is why the shop was run w/ basically a zero customer base. I noticed it...and it was later confirmed. This went on for years. Recently, the shop finally closed.

Uhh actually K-Mart first filed for bankruptcy protection around your join date in January 2002. K-Mart emerged from bankruptcy during spring 2003. In late 2004 they had become some successful in restructuring that they announced the purchase of Sears, Roebuck & Co. The company is now called Sears Holdings Corp., but the actual acquisition was made by K-Mart.

Before I get flamed this is a rant.

Like 1 week before Apexi declared bankcrupcy I order a Power FC and Commander from RHDJapan for 82600 Yen which at the time was 825$ Canadian. When I ordered they told me yeah no problem we get it in one week and ship it out.

Week passes I email and this is the response I get:

"Hello,

Thanks for the question. We have been informed by Apexi that they have placed our order from 2 weeks ago on back order and included in that was all our FD3S power fcs.

The company has filed for bankruptcy protection and is in the midst of some major restructuring. They have told us that they will have our shipment to us in May.

We can give you a full refund immediately if you would not like to wait. We are terribly sorry about this happening.

Let us know if you have any further questions!

Happy bidding!
Best Regards!

Russell Hobbs

Patrick Antell
RHDJapan"

So ofcourse I take a day or two to think about what to do. The reason I ordered them in the first place is that Ramy said it would be until March that he wouldn't have any. Before ordering I emailed Ramy and no response this was the catalyst for me to order from elsewhere.

After thinking about it I asked them for a refund. They were very prompt and gave me a full refund of the purchase amount 82600 Y which obviously with my luck was now only worth 796$ Canadian.

Then I emailed Jappartsspecialist to see if they had any as they advertised on their Ebay site and the response,

"Dear

sorry FD3s 1-3 run out stock at this moment, we have about 40 buyers in waiting list.

tomorrow will have 1 shipment about 30 set arrive, so even u pay today, u need to line up for next shipment about 1-2 weeks

thx
tim"

So seeing as 1-2 weeks didn't seem like an unreasonable delay to me I sent them 730 USD which is 880$CAD. Then this is the response I get.

> So if I pay tonight lets say I could have a set in the next month?
>
> Thanks,
>
> Alex Irwin

Dear
in about 2 weeks about

thx
tim

Now after the two weeks I am starting to get annoyed I write them and the response I get is :

"HI

We still waiting for the PFC to arrive to our store, we will send it out as soon as we received the PFC.

Regards

JPS"

Ofcourse by this time magically RHDJapan has received Power FC's as I have been told by 7_Rocket, funny how May comes fast and Ramy now has received Power FC's and my money is stuck on the wrong horse.

Just want to share my story with everyone so they can spare an ordeal which has cost me money, time and patience. Still I do not have a Power FC on its way to me.

Alex

A few comments...

1) I wouldn't run a GB unless I had already secured the product quantity I've committed to deliver

2) Apexi wasn't the branch in financial trouble; it's the other sister sub-branches of Apexera that were bringing down the company

3) Apexera has indeed assured everyone that production will continue as usual, but they have indeed discontinued a massive amount of Power FCs, many for very popular imports too. Hence my fear and the GB.

4) Alex, not to rub it in, but what can I say? I've told ya maybe 20 times that I'll take care of you, no matter what. But you still insist on supporting off-forum vendors. That's the difference between keeping it within the rotary family and going outside. So I'm sorry for the trouble you're facing, but I gotta say, I told ya so...

Ramy,

First thing I did was email you. Before contacting anyone one else. I got the automated response fromyour site but never got an email back from you.

In the original GB I posted that I was ready just wanted to know the status and you said you would know in March. So before ordering ANYWHERE, I sent you an email to know if you had any updates. Unfortunately, I didn't get a response so I did what anyone would do and tried to find my own source.

Yes, that didn't work out for me and if I would have pestered you with constant emails, but I am not like that is it one of my faults maybe.

Am I mad at you, no, you are a great guy provide support for forum members and have been doing so for long before I was even in the market for an Rx-7.

I also understand that going from AIM messages here and there to a website with responsabilities, GB's and vendor related affairs takes up alot of time. But also working 9-5 mon-fri and having your car at someone elses shop (in my case), in another province means things have to happen and it is either go or no.

Heck, if I would have been patient I would already have one from RHDJapan or from you Ramster I made a bad move it is my fault and I just wanted to share my experience so people understand that at the moment if you can get a guaranteed Power FC it is like an "All Included" date with Jessica Alba.

Cheers dudes
