apexi intake w/ stock intake duct?

I have the apexi intake and was wondering should I take off the stock intake duct and just cap the intercooler.

I've seen a lot of people keeping the duct to direct some fresh air to the intake. It's up to you.

^ thats got to be one of the cleanest and nicest engine bays ive ever seen on an FD....way to go man, props!!! I also have the apexi intakes but running with stock intercooler. I however drive an automatic so i have my pass side duct filled with the trans fluid cooler. Usually ppl will cap the intercooler ducting and run a path of air from the pass side duct if they dont have an auto or dual oil coolers. I am currently running my setup still with the stock intake duct to get a lil bit of cool air to the filters.

My question is should i cover the stock intercooler duct and remove the intake duct piece with no major air routes flowing to the filters but at the same time getting alto more cold air through the stock intercooler, or should i just stay as i am with the stock duct cover splitting air flow between the intercooler and filters.

any insight or comments are welcome

I think for anyone with a stock SMIC, that the intercooler duct should most definitely be covered/blocked off. The Apexi is sucking hot air in anyway like all open exhausts, there's no point in killing intercooler effectiveness too.

I modified mine a little bit with a dremel to make my Blitz intake work with it. I thought it looked more complete with it in. Not so much like a hack-job.

I agree with Rynberg, you should cap it.

Take a piece of plastic and screw it onto the duct, covering the hole.....or you could go ghetto and just cover the opening with duct tape or equivalent.
